I wish I was dumb enough to believe this:
Bloggers have a responsibility to the people. And in a world where major news outlets have reneged on that responsibility, it is vital that we uphold it.
Bloggers are like anybody else. Some are corrupt; some are honest. You can't get all bloggers to do the same thing. Even trying is just insane.
The mainstream media has a responsibility to the people too. So what? Everybody has a responsibility to be honest. That's what makes civilization liveable. But Amanda Cogdon's dishonesty isn't something which invalidates bloggers and blogging; it merely invalidates Amanda Cogdon. It isn't about a gigantic crusade. Just call a liar a liar and move on.
